Pikes Peak Imperial Stout Release is Today!

Hey there Beer Freaks!  It (nearly) slipped my mind that today is the big release down at Pikes Peak Brewing in Monument, CO.  Today at 6 PM, they’ll be releasing bottles of their Summit House Barrel Stout.

This Imperial Stout was aged for 5 months in Whiskey Barrels.  Only 150 bottles will be sold and it’s first come, first serve, with a limit of 2 per person.  In other words, if you want one, this is probably your only chance to get it.  These bad boys are dipped in wax, signed and numbered and will sell for $22.50 / 750mL bottle.

This is their first bottle release and I would expect these to sell out fairly quickly.  This also marks the first Tuesday that Pikes Peak Brewing will be open, so stick around for an after work brew.  Things seem to be going really well down there as I recently heard they’re in the process of expanding their beer garden.  A tap room expansion might be in the works too.

While we’re talking about Pikes Peak, Chris Black, owner of the very incredible, beerily awesome Falling Rock Tap House, made the trip down south a few weeks ago to help brew a Belgian IPA.

Pikes Peak has it listed as an Anniversary Ale.  With both Pikes Peak and Falling Rock having birthdays in June, it’d be great to see this new beer on-tap at both locations.  I’ll pass on any details I can find out.

In the meantime, the bottle release is at 6 PM tonight!  Get your butt over there if you want to secure a bottle or two.  Have fun!

Pikes Peak Brewing is located at: 1756 Lake Woodmoor Dr, Monument, CO 80132.  719-208-4098.
